How to remove etch marks from your gorgeous black marble reception area desk?
Removing etch marks from marble slabs is more like a crafting process.
But well, using the latest marble repair kit, you can make this crafting process easier. Most of these to-do kit comes with pretty much everything you’ll need to remove etch marks from your marble desk.
All you’ll need is a cup of water, a few sheets of paper towel and about 15 minutes of your labour to restore the look of your marble desk.
The following are the step-by-step procedures,
1. Get a wet sponge and clean the affected area of your marble reception desk.
2. Now buff the surface dry using a paper towel to remove the dust and dirt from that area.
3. Once done, wet the etched part of your black marble desk until it’s covered with water.
4. Get a pad holder and attach the sanding pad from the kit to it.
5. Now sand the surface with moderate pressure in 50 – 60 circular motions about 0.5 – 1 cm area beyond the etched part.
6. Now clean the etched part on your marble desk with a sponge and buff it dry using a soft, microfiber cloth. If the etch marks persist, repeat the process from the start.
7. Now wet the area with a wet sponge again.
8. Now attach the polishing pad from the kit to your pad holder.
9. Put ½ tsp of polish paste per 4” x 4” area for your desk to water to dilute it using a wooden stick and apply it likewise on the stone surface.
10. Apply high pressure in a circular motion on your marble desk for about 50 – 100 circles.
11. Ensure to polish a 1 – 2 cm. area beyond the affected part of your black marble desk.
12. Now clean the part with a sponge and spray some marble spray (e.g., R-311 marble spray) on the marble desk and dry it using a microfiber cloth or paper towel.
13. Ensure that the area is smooth and shiny. If not, repeat the steps from the start.
